Supporting Parents at R.E.A.L.

The R.E.A.L. Parent Group meets online (through our dedicated Facebook group) and face-to-face.

All parents are welcome to our friendly get-togethers. The next face-to-face Parent Group meeting is at 10am on 9th June at City Hub, 10 Newark Street, Sneinton, Nottingham, NG2 4PP. Lasting around an hour and a half, the informal meeting has refreshments (including cake!) and is a great opportunity to meet other R.E.A.L. parents.

The Parent Group is a brilliant source of support, and meetings are used as a forum for parents to discuss anything they feel they need to – from actions they would like to see happen, to general advice and support.

Ellen Longmate (who supports the Parent Group) will meet all parents in the City Hub reception area at 10am on 9th June. There is parking on the street near the City Hub until 12pm – please do check the signs about parking restrictions when you arrive.

If you would like to know a bit more about the Facebook group or get-togethers, please email Ellen for more information: parentsgroup@real-education.org

Co-op Members Raise Money for R.E.A.L. Community Project

The R.E.A.L. Foundation Trust has successfully had a bid accepted as one of the Co-op’s Community Fund projects  – a scheme where all Co-op members can choose a project to support, and 1% of everything they spend on own brand products and services goes towards that cause.

The money raised will help R.E.A.L. Foundation Trust to establish a community-based project in Mansfield, where our students provide food and structured activities for vulnerable local groups. It will be specifically be spent on the resources needed to make high tea for visitors and also to help with transport if needed.

The project will support the student’s curriculum whilst increasing their social skills and providing a service to the community.

In the first week an amazing £659.01 has been raised. Please support the project by following this link: membership.coop.co.uk/causes/8566 and spread the word with anyone you know!
