Careers Week at R.E.A.L.
Careers Week took place at R.E.A.L. on Monday 4th March to Friday 8th March.
With trips out, employer visits and new work experiences, the aim of the week was to spark the imagination of R.E.A.L. learners regarding their future potential careers.
As part of the week, representatives from financial services company, J P Morgan visited R.E.A.L. to talk to learners – with young people from the Brunts Academy, Queen Elizabeth’s School and R.E.A.L Education all taking part. The event centred around social mobility, with the theme of ‘All Minds Wanted – see how far your thinking can go.’
Clare Walker, School Lead for Employability said: “At R.E.A.L., our aim is to create inspiring ‘real life’ experiences and opportunities for learners with a supported transition into the world of business, commerce and further education.
“The week had some brilliant highlights including a team building day at Kingsmill Adventure, a trip to Sainsbury’s to look at the bakery and quality test hot cross buns and a ‘Guess My Role’ activity which local employers supported. We hope our learners enjoyed the experiences and they have helped them to think about their future paths.”
