Welcome from Nicky Purcell, the new Head of Schools for R.E.A.L.
In the newly created role of Head of Schools for R.E.A.L. Independent Schools, I will work with all four of our schools to ensure the best possible educational opportunities for our children and young people across the East Midlands.
I feel privileged to be leading a fantastic team of staff who are caring, dedicated, highly skilled and very enthusiastic! They work tirelessly to provide each child with an exciting and individualised curriculum which engages, motivates and fosters a love of learning. Pupils are stimulated to become the best they can be, both academically and socially.
We are well prepared for the start of our academic year 2020-2021 and want to assure our learners, parents and carers that we have the safety of our school community at the forefront of our preparation and planning. Our leadership team have worked hard over the summer break to keep up to date with changes to Government recommendations and guidelines with regards to Covid 19 safety measures. We have a highly specialised team to take advice from and are in contact with all of our commissioning local authorities for support with regards to localised lock down arrangements. Our hubs have all been individually risk assessed and numbers on site carefully managed to ensure social distancing guidelines are adhered to. Mental health and wellbeing will be at the forefront of our minds over the coming months and we will ensure that the learners have the support they require to feel safe and to continue to enjoy their education.
Our team have planned lots of exciting opportunities for our children and young people over the coming year. We know that delivering such an exciting programme during a public health crisis means that we need to work flexibly – as Government guidelines change – our ambition is to continue to make learning enjoyable and safe at all times.
If you have a son or daughter accessing learning at R.E.A.L. Education and you have any concerns at all, please feel free to contact the Learning Manager for your child and they will direct you to the best person to support you.
