At R.E.A.L., we are constantly looking at ways to improve and enhance our physical learning spaces. We know that learners really appreciate working in spaces that stimulate and nurture them.
Over the month of August, we developed a sensory area in our R.E.A.L. Independent School, Ilkeston hub.
A sensory area can provide a low-stress, calm and fun environment for learners to work through and take charge of their emotions. Time spent in a multi-sensory environment has been proven to encourage creativity, increase concentration, improve motor skills, social skills and communication.
We can’t wait to see how the young people engage with the space – we are sure that this new area will make a huge difference to the wellbeing of our learners.
